Role Description

To be successful as DevOps Java Developer you should have experience with:

  • Strong Java programming skills (Java 8+)
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Camel, Spring Integration)
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Gitlab)
  • Design and implement robust Java applications to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate data exchange between systems.
  • Optimize database queries and data processing algorithms for improved performance.
  • Implement data validation and error handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and sources.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Familiarity with message queues (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ)
  • Understanding of data privacy and security best practices

This role is based in Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
